AquaGym Swim Centre

History

The AquaGym Facility was purpose built in 1988 by two of New Zealand's leading Elite Swim Coaches, Brett Naylor and Clive Power. Brett and Clive have for many years coached New Zealand Swim Teams to Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. Brett represented New Zealand as a swimmer at Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Championships, before receiving a University Scholarship to swim and later coach while studying in the USA. AquaGym coaches have sent swimmers to numerous Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Championships, World Championships and Brett proudly coached Anna Simcic to a World Record.

The Facility is now fully owned by Brett and Colleen Naylor and whilst the competitive swimmers are still showing their strength at all levels, an enormous amount of energy has been put in to our Learn to Swim programme.
After several years involved with National Swimming as Head Coach, as a National Selector and president of NZ Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association Brett is now totally involved in the training of AquaGym Swimming Tutors. His main goal is to produce quality swimming lessons using internationally recognized best practices, ensuring that our Teaching Team is the best in the country.
Bretts passion and dedication to excellence in swimming training and education has seen great recognition and awards over many years.
